17 Foreign Nationals Deported From Bali: What Immigration Found During Patrols?

BALI — A total of 17 foreign nationals (WNA) were deported by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office between September 8 and 18, 2026, following routine immigration patrols conducted across several areas under its jurisdiction.

The patrols were carried out from September 5 to 14, 2026, as part of efforts to monitor the activities and presence of foreign nationals in Bali and identify potential immigration violations.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhammad Novyandri, said 10 of the 17 deported foreign nationals were found to have violated Article 75 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.

The provision allows immigration authorities to take action against foreign nationals whose activities are considered to endanger public security and order.

Australian Nationals Among Those Deported One of the deported foreign nationals was identified as BA, who previously went viral on social media after allegedly engaging in an indecent act in front of a resident's house.

BA received a deportation recommendation from the Badung Police. Two other Australian nationals were deported after they were found to have misused their Visit Stay Permits (ITK) by working as a director and commissioner at a company. Another foreign national, identified as JSM, held a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS). Immigration authorities suspected JSM of misusing the permit by holding multiple positions while using the ITAS.

JSM was also suspected of carrying out activities at a company where the individual no longer held an official position.

JSM was deported through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Seven Foreign Nationals Deported for Overstaying In addition to the 10 foreign nationals deported for violations related to public security and order, another seven were deported after overstaying their immigration permits by more than 60 days.

Their actions violated Article 78 Paragraph (3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration. The seven foreign nationals consisted of two Dutch citizens, as well as nationals of the United Kingdom, Italy, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Immigration Patrols Continue Across Ngurah Rai's Jurisdiction Novyandri said routine immigration patrols remain an important part of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office's efforts to identify violations directly in the field. The patrols are intended to ensure that the presence and activities of foreign nationals within the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office's jurisdiction comply with Indonesian immigration regulations.

“We conduct routine immigration patrols to ensure that the presence and activities of foreign nationals within the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office's jurisdiction comply with the applicable regulations. If violations are found, we will process them according to the rules,” Novyandri said.

He added that the enforcement was part of the Immigration Office's broader commitment to providing quality public services, strengthening supervision, and enforcing immigration law fairly.

“This is in line with the spirit of Immigration for the People, which we realize through quality services, optimal supervision, and fair law enforcement,” Novyandri said.
