BALI — The Denpasar City National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has seized 8.5 grams of methamphetamine and five ecstasy pills in an operation targeting an alleged drug trafficking network in South Denpasar, Bali. One suspect, identified by the initial F, has been arrested, while two others, identified as IP and N, remain at large.

The operation took place across three crime scenes from Tuesday night, October 20, to the early hours of Wednesday, October 21, 2026. According to the Denpasar City BNN, the arrests followed nearly two weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering.

Head of Denpasar City BNN, Police Commissioner Leo Dedy Defretes, said six officers from the agency’s enforcement team took part in the operation.

Drug Investigation Expands to Renon Guesthouse

Following F’s arrest, investigators expanded the operation to a guesthouse on Jalan Tukad Badung in Renon, South Denpasar.

Searches of two separate rooms uncovered several items suspected of being connected to drug distribution, including a methamphetamine smoking device, plastic sachets, two packages of suspected methamphetamine believed to be prepared for distribution, and digital scales.

Investigators subsequently moved to a third location, including a house suspected of being linked to the suspects’ activities. The findings are now being examined as part of a broader investigation into the alleged narcotics network.

Two Suspects Remain at Large

Leo said preliminary findings suggest that F was connected to a suspected drug dealer identified as IP. Officers attempted to locate IP during the operation, but the suspect had allegedly fled before being apprehended.

Investigators also found evidence in a room associated with IP, which is now being examined as part of the ongoing case.

“We will continue developing this case and tracing the network further up the chain, including dealers operating in Bali, particularly in Denpasar,” Leo said.

The agency is also searching for N, who allegedly arrived at the first location with F but fled during the operation.

According to information gathered from several sources contacted in connection with the case, IP is suspected of being a repeat offender who has previously been arrested and detained twice in separate narcotics cases. Investigators are continuing to verify the information and establish IP’s alleged role in the network under investigation.

BNN Plans Wanted Notices After Evidence Is Completed

Denpasar City BNN plans to issue wanted-person notices for the two suspects once investigators have completed the required evidentiary process and coordinated with the relevant authorities.

Leo said the agency was still actively searching for the fugitives as of Wednesday morning. The process of issuing the notices was expected to proceed within the following one to two days, subject to the completion of the necessary requirements.

“As of this morning, we are continuing to search for the suspects who fled,” Leo said.

Denpasar BNN Urges Public to Help Prevent Drug Abuse

Beyond enforcement, Denpasar City BNN continues to strengthen efforts to prevent narcotics abuse, particularly among young people.

Leo urged the public to build personal resilience against drug abuse and avoid becoming victims of, or becoming involved in, illicit narcotics distribution.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities seeking to identify other individuals allegedly involved and trace the suspected suppliers behind the network.

The seized substances and other evidence are being examined as investigators work to establish the full extent of the alleged drug trafficking operation in Denpasar and the wider Bali region.
